Laad Bazaar is an old market in the Indian city of Hyderabad. Standing on one of the four main roads that branch out from the Charminar. It is one of the oldest markets located near Charminar, famous for gorgeous bangles, semi-precious stones, pearls, saris, brocade, velvet and gold embroidered fabrics, sherwanis, traditional khara dupattas, lacquer bangles and perfumes, and shopping at Laad Bazaar is a sheer delight. It is also called as Choodi Bazaar. The exquisite range of lac and glass bangles, the pride and joy of the women of Hyderabad. "Laad" is a Substance which is used to make Bangles [Material on which artificial diamonds are fixed]– and a more appropriate name would be difficult to bestow upon the bazaar.In this gently sloping, roughly kilometre-long strip, there are a number of stores selling articles primarily targeted towards women. A vast and colourful array of stores selling bangles, saris, wedding clothes and items, jewellery and other such items present themselves here.
